2. Contact Lens Solution Slime

Contact solution is one of the most popular slime activators because borax powder on its own can be harsh on skin and liquid starch is not always readily available outside of the United States.

However, slime made with contact lens solution is just as squishy and stretchy as regular borax slime!

To make contact lens solution slime you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Contact lens solution (must contain sodium borate)
  • White school glue (or glitter glue)
  • Baking soda
  • Water

3. Oobleck

Most traditional slime recipes contain glue and a borate-based activator, and may not the best idea for toddlers or young kids that still like to taste-test everything they play with.

I started experimenting with taste-safe edible slime recipes when my youngest daughter was 2 years old. Our first recipe was edible silly putty and it was such a hit that we decided to make more edible slimes!

My inspiration for edible slime came from the Oobleck slime recipe I played with as a child. It’s super easy and taste-safe!

To make Oobleck you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Cornstarch
  • Water
